Utility Bill Adjustments
Eye on Water, the customer usage portal, is a tracking application that allows customers to track continuous and high usage before the usage translates into a high-cost bill. Usage can be tracked hourly, daily, weekly, monthly, etc. Broad Creek PSD customers are responsible for all metered water, and early leak detection is crucial to maintaining affordable utility bills.
Customers may be eligible for an adjustment once every three years for unusually high-water usage which has an explained cause outside of the customer’s control, and where the Eye on Water application would have had no impact on consumption. The request must be received within ninety (90) days of the billing date and be accompanied by documentation that the cause has been repaired. If the high usage is due to an interior line break that caused damage to the home, the District will require documentation that the homeowner’s insurance company will not cover the water charges.
Adjustments will not be considered for the “continuous usage” over 96 hours (4 days). The District does not adjust for filling pools. The District does not adjust the flat sewer charges. Sewer usage charges may not be adjusted for any usage under 100,000 gallons. Any adjustment remains at the discretion of the District. Any adjustments will appear as a credit on the utility bill. The customer remains responsible for the payment of the entire amount due on their utility bill within the normal payment period unless they have a signed payment plan. Contact the District at 843-785-7582 for any adjustment questions.
